Students who have been accepted into the CKLKS can apply for either a General Short-Term Visa (C-3) or a General Student Visa (D-4). It is essential for foreign nationals to have the appropriate visa for their studies.

      • General Short-Term Visa (C-3)

This visa is generally called a tourist visa or a visitor's visa. Students who are planning to stay in Korea for less than 90 days, may apply for a C-3 visa. The holder of this visa should coordinate his/her length of study in Korea with the time period specified the visa, so as to avoid the expiration of the visa prior to the completion of the course of study.

① A visa can be obtained by applying at either a Korean Embassy or Consular Office. The required documents are a passport and a Visa Application Form (available at a Korean Embassy or Consular office)

② Those who have a C-3 visa can apply for a D-4 visa at the Exit and Entry Control Bureau in Daejeon, south Korea, if they want to extend their studies for more than 91days. Please contact at the Exit and Entry Control Bureau in Daejeon, South Korea to enquire whether it is possible to change to a D-4 visa. There are some countries for which it is difficult to change visa types.

      • General Student Visa (D-4)

① Students who want to stay in Korea for more than 91 days, should apply for a D-4 visa at least two months before departing for Korea. This visa is usually good for 6 months at a time and can be renewed for another 6 months from Korea. Since this visa takes approximately one month to process, students should apply for this visa at least two months before leaving for Korea.

② A visa can be obtained by applying at either a Korean Embassy or a Consulate Office. The required documents are:
               - Passport
