  • ACADEMIC GUIDANCE OF CAMPUS LIFE
    • Guidance of Course Application

       Every student must apply personally for the course or the respective semester for themselves on-line over the Internet.
      A personal ID is an assigned academic number and the password will be the number of foreign/(alien) registration.  Therefore, everyone must read the course schedule for the semester and make any inquiry you may have with the professor.

    • An outline of course application
      • Students who want to study a course for a semester must register the course by the General Computer Center of KWU. 
        Consultations should be made with  professors before registration.
      • The Maximum points allowed for each semester are 18 and you can apply for exemption (extra-credits - if your G.P.A. is over 4.2) - subject to the approval of the president.
      • If points exceed the limit without special cause, liberal subjects and major subject may be deleted.
    • Reapplication for courses
      • Every student can apply for a subject again which they have already completed.
      • The past points will be cancelled if greater points are obtained for each subject.
    • Kinds and periods of examinations:

      The examination will be given two times - a mid-term exam and a final exam. The mid-term examination will be given at 8 weeks, and the final exam after 15 weeks from the first week of the semester.  Professors in charge may take examination without special period and give a temporary examination during the class.

    • Evaluation of grades

      Grades will be evaluated by the professors attendance, report, tests or review etc.
      The evaluation of experiment or laboratory work may be given separately.

    • Relative evaluation

      Professors must evaluate their subjects relative to students as students may major in several subjects.

    • Opposition to the grades
      • The results of the grade can be opened under the responsibility of the professors in charge and an opposition may be filed by the student in the case that they are not satisfied with the result.
      • Professors must input their results by the due date to the department of the Academic Affairs by the General Computer Network.
      • The grade will not amended after the Score report is submitted and can only be amended given special cases such as error, omission, mis-writing etc. with the approval of the president.
    • Punishment

      A student whose G.P.A falls below 1.30 for the 1st and 3rd semester, obtains grades of "F" over 3 subjects and who does not re-apply for the courses without special reason would be warned for punishment.

    • Rate of relative evaluation
      • Bell-Curve
      • Over A: Within 30% of total classroom attendance.
      • Under B: Decisions are made by individual professors.
    • Graduation
      • Necessary points for graduation.
      • A student whom hopes to graduate earlier than the normal period must submit the document in 15days to the department of Academic Affairs by way of related department.
      • A graduate thesis, lab report, examination etc. necessary for graduation should be completed within the estimated semester of the graduation.  The Schedule of Thesis must be with notification to the professor in charge.
